The Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History in Brussels is dedicated to the Belgian Army and its history from 1700 until the present day. The museum, inaugurated in 1923, features unique collections, both in quantity and quality.
The vast museum houses numerous weapons and armour, military uniforms from various periods, medals, paintings, miniatures, sculptures, canons, ships, tanks, aircraft and many other interesting representations of scenes of World War II or how life was in the trenches.
The museum is housed in two of the halls of the historic Cinquantenaire, which were built in 1880 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Belgian independence.
