Free Tour of the European Quarter
Description
After meeting at the appointed time in front of the Musical Instruments Museum, we'll head towards the European Quarter, an enduring symbol of the Belgian capital. Ready to set off on a fascinating free tour of Brussels?
First of all, we'll pass by the Ravenstein Galleries, which are used daily by thousands of workers from both European and Belgian institutions. Then, we'll cross Royal Park and we'll be able to see different embassies and consulates. In this area, we'll also be able to notice the various lobbies operating in the city.
Heading straight into the neighborhood, we'll see the Schuman traffic circle, the European Commission, the European Council, Leopold Park, Luxembourg Square, and finally, the impressive European Parliament. Along the way, we'll explain what each institution is responsible for as well as fascinating fun facts and little-known secrets about them.
The free tour will take us to the Museum of the History of the European Union, a must-see place to understand the development and evolution of the history of Europe up to the present day.
We'll finish our tour in one of the most emblematic points of the city, the Cinquantenaire Park, built by King Leopold II to celebrate the country's independence. Did you know that it houses several of the most important museums in Brussels?
At the end of the free tour, 2 hours and 15 minutes later, you'll be able to return to the center or continue exploreing on your own.
