We'll start this comic tour of Brussels by meeting at the indicated time on Rue du Marché au Charbon. Firstly, we'll go to a shop specializing in Ninth Art, where we'll introduce you to the fascinating world of Belgian comics.
We'll then take a stroll through the Belgian capital to see several murals dedicated to the world of comics. We'll discover who the artists of these paintings are, how they relate to each other, and which are the main schools of Franco-Belgian comics, where the so-called "clear line" stands out. Not only that, we'll also find out which was the first mural dedicated to comics in Brussels!
Next, we'll take you to the house that served as Hergé's inspiration for Tintin's iconic home. This location is conveniently close to the market where Tintin famously encountered the elusive "unicorn." As we continue our journey, we'll uncover several more comic murals, exploring the artistic talents behind them and the interconnected world of Franco-Belgian comics. Our path will lead us to the graphical rendition of the Manneken Pis, positioned alongside his charming cloakroom. Discover how this mischievous character has made his mark in the realm of Franco-Belgian comics.
Next up we'll see the mural dedicated to Tintin, which is located next to the official Tintin shop. We'll even pass by the theater where Tintin's adventures came to life on stage.
Our tour will continue as we pass by the MOOF, the Brussels Comics Figurines Museum.
After 2.5 hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude our journey at the Place du Jeu de Balle.
